Fighter Plastic

Fighter plastic

Unit Type: Ships

Previous: Dreadnought | Next: Flagship

Number in Reinforcements: 10

Note: The number of Fighters a player can produce is not limited by the number of plastic pieces in their reinforcements, and unlimited Fighter tokens can be used to represent extra units. At least one piece of plastic must accompany any group of Fighter tokens in a system, so a maximum of 10 systems may contain a single player's Fighters.

Base Unit[]

Fighters are the cheapest ship in the game. Their main function is to take hits in place of more important ships.

Fighters cannot move on their own and must be carried by a ship with capacity (each Fighter counting as 1 unit being carried)

A certain number of Fighters, however, can exist in a system with a space dock without being carried

Upgraded Unit[]

Upgraded Fighters gain the ability to move without being carried. However, if they are not being carried, each Fighter counts as 1 towards the fleet limit

Fighter II
Req. This unit may move without being transported.

Faction-Specific Variants[]

The Naalu Collective[]

Hybrid Crystal Fighters are stronger than regular Fighters and when upgraded only count as 1/2 toward the fleet limit as opposed to 1

Fighter Tokens[]

FighterToken

A Fighter token representing 1 fighter

A Fighter token functions as a plastic Fighter unit for all game purposes

When producing a Fighter unit, a player can use a Fighter token from the supply instead of a plastic piece

Players can replace their plastic Fighters with tokens at any time

If a player ever has a Fighter token in a system that does not contain one of their plastic Fighters, that player must replace it with a plastic Fighter from their reinforcements

If the player cannot replace the token, the unit is destroyed

Fighter tokens come in values of one and three. A player can swap between these tokens as necessary.
